I love random facts! :)

Color-Coded Plastic Ties Tell You Day Your Bread Was Baked

Turns out that the plastic tags and twists on loafs of bread aren't just for looking pretty, they are coded to indicate what day the bread was baked on, writes Wise Bread. The most commonly-used code for 5-day a week delivery is is blue for Monday, green for Tuesday, red for Thursday, white for Friday, and yellow for Saturday. It's a nifty "and now you know" factoid, though it probably won't save you from getting a stale loaf, because the shelf stockers for whom the code was designed are already doing that for you.

The little things....

It's the little things in life that I truly appreciate. The respect from a child, a hug, a smile from across the room, hearing the words "i love you", solving a puzzle, learning something new, getting a handwritten note, laughing, sitting in silence, taking a hot shower, hearing my favorite song, crying happy tears, winning a basketball game, helping someone, breathing, travel, quality time, grace, faith, taking the first bite of something delicious, meeting someone new, being alive..... And the list goes on.

i try to take nothing got granted.

Door Etiquette...

How To Pass Through A Door

Ever notice how many people don't know how to go through a door? They don't know how to hold it for other people, and, when the door is held for them, they just keep on walking without even mumbling their thanks. How rude! To rectify this situation, designer Isadora Dantas has created this helpful flowchart that instructs users in the proper way to pass through a door. If this graphic was distributed along with building access badges, the world would be a better place.

Don't mess with my Debit Card!!!!

I know a few individuals that will be just fine with this.. Anthony and my Uncle Mike to name a couple... but I know far more people who will riot! Myself included :)

Banks Might Limit Amount You Can Buy On Debit Card

Grumbling over proposed limits to debit card swipe fees, banks are hinting they're considering putting a cap on how much you can buy with a debit card. It could even be something like $50 or $100, forcing consumers to either pay with credit card or cash.
"If the final rules that are issued in April look like the [Fed's] draft, there's no question that it will impact how we and other issuers price deposit and payment services and what features and benefits are included," a Bank of America spokesman told the New York Post.
Would they really do that? It would certainly disrupt how many Americans conduct their personal purchases in a pretty major way. I can see a lot of people getting angry over this, and that ire is going to be directed at the banks, not the government, so I'm not really sure what the rationale behind this is besides trying to cast more voodoo over the swipe fee debate.

Costco.. we can still be friends :)

Me's Rules to Costco:

1. Stick to the List
2. Use the samples for what they are good for.. FREE FOOD! Never feel obligated to buy
3. Go only when you have to be someplace right after, or right before it closes. Otherwise, you literally will stay in there all day long and spend $300 easily (not that I have done that or anything, lol)
4. If you live alone, only buy things there that will last for at least 3 months or that you can freeze and still use
5. Have fun at Costco! If you have self control and can play with all the toys, look at the clothes, and not buy everything in the warehouse.. then you should really have a nice time :)
6. If you frequent at Costco.. Step up your game and get the Black Card aka Executive Membership. You pay $50 extra up front.. however, you get automatic $50 back each year, on top of 2% of what you buy... You do the math people!

Psychological Tricks Warehouse Stores Play On You

Warehouse stores like Costco and Sam's Club attract an unqualified devotion of hardcore devotees, myself included. They provide havens that sap away your frugality and coax you to happily part with large sums of money and buy more food and supplies than you'll logically go through in any imaginable length of time.
DealNews spoke to a psychotherapist, who opines about seven tricky tactics the clubs use to lull you into a sometimes false sense of security:
No music. Supermarkets are said to pipe music over speakers in order to get you moving quickly and avoid clogged aisles and lines. Warehouses often ditch the soundtrack, subconsciously coaxing you to hang around as long as you like. The thinking goes that the longer you're in the store, the more stuff you'll be tempted to buy.
Large sizes and quantities that seem like better deals. When confronted with abnormally large packages, it's tougher to do the math on your feet and calculate whether you're actually getting a better deal than you would at another store.
Ubiquitous samples. The warehouses work hard to get you to taste its wares. If you like a sample -- or better yet for the warehouse -- if your kid likes a sample and nags you, you're more likely to make an unplanned purchase.
If you have a warehouse club membership, what do you do to make sure you aren't snookered?

Enough said... soon it will be mine! :)

Cell Phones = Income = My boyfriend isn't going to die = Being Smart

So as it turns out... cell phone use will not cause cancer.. and can actually benefit our lives in more ways than we imagined... Good thing for Anthony since his cell phone is practically attached to his hand ;) Also good thing since I work for T-Mobile and collect a pay check from them every 2 weeks.. and there more than likely will not be any potential lawsuits for brain cancer caused by overactive cell phone use. Cheers!

Science Says Your Cell Phone Makes Your Brain Cells More Active

It stands to reason that those little bundles of electromagnetic radiation we call cell phones affect the body somehow, and researchers have confirmed they mess with our brains.
A study published in the Journal of American Medical Association found 50 minutes of cell phone use made subjects' brain cells more active. The study doesn't make conclusions as to whether the activity makes you think faster or more effectively, or has some sort of negative effect.
A representative from Environmental Working Group tells CNN the study raises some eyebrows: "It joins the growing list of studies that have raised concerns about cell phone use and the brain," she said.
Wireless industry group CITA says no research has proven cell phones to be dangerous:
Said a CITA spokesman in a statement:
"The peer-reviewed scientific evidence has overwhelmingly indicated that wireless devices, within the limits established by the FCC, do not pose a public health risk or cause any adverse health effects. In May 2010, the Interphone project, coordinated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which was the largest study of cell phone use and brain tumors ever undertaken and included substantial numbers of subjects using cell phones for ten years or longer, found that 'overall, no increase in risk was observed with the use of mobile phones.' "

Youtube..... oh yes!

Removal of Comcast out of my life is one of my top priorities! Potentially getting closer :)

YouTube Wants Live NBA, NHL Games

YouTube foresees a future for itself in which it will host more than just cat videos and angry Hitler parodies. The Google-owned video repository is in talks with the NBA and NHL, as well as European soccer leagues, to broadcast live games.
Bloomberg BusinessWeek reports Google is confident in YouTube's sports broadcasting aptitude because it had success with Indian Premier League cricket matches last year.
Google didn't comment on the talks with the leagues except to say "It's fair to say that there will be a lot more appealing sports content you'll see on YouTube," and the NBA and NHL had nothing to say.
What sports would you like to see on YouTube?

First Ever Blog Post!!!!

Hello world!

As I was sitting at my new desk at the T-Mobile Corporate office, looking out the window at a "blizzard" coming down, I figured it was an appropriate time to begin my blog.

While this may not be exciting to everyone in the world, this is a pretty big deal for me :)

So, how this is going to work, from what I have already premeditated, is that I am going to post things that interest me, experiences I go through on a daily basis, bible verses, quotes, poems, songs, etc.

I hope you enjoy, and please don't set high expectations for a life changing experience on my blog, because chances are that you might not get it here. But, what I do hope is that sharing my life can somehow put a smile on your face, help you to have a different outlook on life, and possibly learn something new as you read it while I live it.

Tootles! :)
